Hammers forward Enner Valencia has joined Mexican side Tigres for an undisclosed fee.

The Ecuadorian signed for West Ham for a £12 million in 2014 from Pachuca following an impressive World Cup campaign, but the 27-year-old has since struggled to replicate the form he showed on the international stage at the London Stadium, with his progress often halted by injury problems.

Valencia spent last season on-loan at Everton, making 30 appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side and scoring 3 goals. The Toffees decided not to take on the striker as a permanent option.

The striker got off to a promising start in English football, scoring a cracking goal against Hull City on his full league debut, followed shortly by a goals against both Burnley and Stoke in the following weeks, however found the net only twice more after that during the 2014/15 campaign. Valencia scored 5 again in his second season with the Hammers before moving to Everton last summer.

While the club were without him last season, the Ecuador international’s departure will no doubt mean that Slaven Bilic will need to find a replacement for the forward, and here are three players he could look to this summer …
