The future of West Ham United goalkeeper Darren Randolph has been thrown into question after the Hammers come close to completing the signing of Joe Hart on a season long-loan from Manchester City.

Hart is set to have had a medical today ahead of the proposed move, and s now set for his second consecutive season away from the Etihad Stadium after having spent last year on-loan with Serie A side Torino. Now back in England, Hart is looking to revitalise his career back in his home country away from the Manchester club after having been frozen out of the squad by manager Pep Guardiola.

The move away has sparked rumours with regards to the future of West Ham’s current number one Darren Randolph, who has established himself as Slaven Bilic’s main man between there sticks over the past two seasons.

Should Hart sign, he would almost certainly walk into Bilic’s starting line-up given his Premier League and international credentials, meaning Randolph is likely to have to take on a lesser role at the club.

However, like Hart, Randolph has his own international aspirations, and with the World Cup only a year away, the Republic of Ireland keeper will want to keep his number one jersey for Martin O’Neill’s side, and could look to move away from the London Stadium for first team football.

Newcastle are said to be amongst those interested in signing the ROI shot stopper after returning to the Premier League via winning the Championship last season.
