New signing Marko Arnautovic says he cannot wait to get life started as a West Ham player and hopes to find ‘success’ with the Hammers.

The Austria international became the club’s record signing earlier this week, signing a 5-year-deal at the London Stadium after leaving Stoke City, the club with whom he has spent four years with in the Premier League.

Arnautovic could make his debut for his new club as soon as next week against, believe it or not, his former side Werder Bremen as Slaven Bilic’s side face the Bundesliga outfit in a double header for the Betway Cup.

Speaking on whufc.com, the 28-year-old says he cannot wait for the challenge ahead: “The manager gives me a good feeling for the Club and for myself, that I can improve here. I didn’t have to think long to take this opportunity.

“I spoke also to my family and everyone – everyone was happy that the agreement was done with West Ham and now we can’t wait to get started at this Club.”

The Austrian moved to the Potters in the summer of 2013, and established himself as one of Stoke’s key players over the past four years, scoring 26 times for Mark Hughe’s side, and Arnautovic hopes he can repeat that feat for the Hammers.

“I think we are going to make a good season, and I hope that everyone stays healthy, without injuries and we can show some good football.

“I will try to do my best here and I hope to celebrate some success [at West Ham].”
