West Ham are still considering a move for former Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy, according to Daily Mail journalist Kieran Gill.

The former England international was released by the Canaries at the end of the Championship season after his contract expired. Last month, another Mail journalist Simon Jones stated that Ruddy had been in talks with the Hammers over a possible free transfer.

The only difference this time it seems is that Brighton are also looking at the 30 year old just in case current number one goalkeeper David Stockdale fails to sign a new deal before his contract expires at the end of the month.

Stockdale himself has also been linked with a switch to the London Stadium, and was named in the Championship PFA Team of the Year for his performances for the Seagulls.

At 31, he is just a year older than Ruddy, and kept 20 clean sheets, conceding just 40 goals in 45 Championship matches last season. In contrast Ruddy played 29 games in all competitions last season, conceding 37 and keeping just ten clean sheets for Norwich.
