Mexican TV reporter Juan Carlos Cruz spoke live on air during Mexico’s match against Ireland yesterday about West Ham’s interest in Mexico midfielder Jurgen Damm.

The Tigres UANL winger did not feature in the friendly last night but it did not stop Cruz making a comment on Univision Deportes about Damm’s prospective transfer to the Hammers.

He stated that the London club had offered €4.5million or £4million to Tigres for their share of the player. According to Cruz, the Mexican side own 70% while third parties own the other 30%.

Damm moved to Tigres from Pachuca in 2015, and has played 87 times for the club, scoring nine goals, and providing 13 assists. He is used mostly as a right winger and is known for his pace.

Considering manager Slaven Bilic has expressed a need for an infusion of pace into the West Ham squad, the link to Damm looks more credible, and if he can be bought at a relatively low price, it seems a low risk transfer.
