Porto have made midfielder Yacine Brahimi available for transfer, according to A Bola.

The Algerian international was linked with West Ham last summer, and it seems as though the 27 year old will be sold to the Premier League if the third party who part owns his registration gets their way.

English clubs, unlike Portuguese ones, are not allowed to co-own players with third parties, and are obligated to buy out all owners before a move to the country isĀ agreed.

With the Premier League increasingly wealthy due to TV rights deals, European clubs are aware that they can make maximum profits if they sell to a team in England.

With Porto needing to balance their backs in order to meet UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations, and Brahimi’s third party owner Stellar Football Ltd commanding a sizeable slice of the transfer fee, the player won’t be sold on the cheap.

They tried to make a sale happen last summer as well, but there were no takers. Brahimi was frozen out of the team until late September. He still had a good season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 31 matches.
