West Ham have identified Arsenal frontman Theo Walcott as a £25 million summer target as they look to bolster their options up-front ahead of the new season, according to reports from The Sun.
Walcott struggled for consistent playing time during the latter half of the season for Arsene Wenger’s side, and is reportedly worried another season like the last could damage his chances of making the England squad ahead of the World Cup in Russia next summer.
The 28-year-old was left out of Gareth Southgate’s most recent squads to face Scotland and France, however Hammers manager Slaven Bilic could offer him a ticket back into the national side in the form of a move to the London Stadium.
The proposed move for the former Southampton youngster would almost certainly guarantee first-team football for Walcott in his preferred position of up-front, and allow him again to prove his worth to England boss Southgate ahead of the tournament in Russia.
Hammers fans seem happy and have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts ….
Absolutely cannot understand the hate if West Ham bid for Walcott. He'd be a great fit and would WALK in to the Hammers first team.

Feghouli/Snodgrass or Walcott? It's not even a close contest.

Walcott would be a great signing. As would Giroud or Lucas Perez. Just need Wenger to sign a striker and hopefully can nab one of them

If Walcott went to West Ham he would score 20 goals next season
