West Bromwich Albion have entered the race to sign Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The local newspaper reports that Iheanacho’s agent has told them he has been contacted by the Baggies about the striker making a switch to the Hawthorns. West Ham are among the clubs also looking at the 20 year old, along with Southampton and Everton.

Premier League teams will have to contend with competition from the Bundesliga for the Nigerian as well, with Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim registering their interest.

Earlier this month the Evening Standard confirmed West Ham’s pursuit of the player, and that City would allow the forward to leave for approximately £20m in the summer.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News yesterday however, Iheanacho stated he was “happy to stay” at the Etihad stadium despite a lack of game time. The Nigerian has made just nine starts in all competitions this season, making 29 appearances in total and scoring seven goals.
