West Ham winger Sofiane Feghouli says he has found adapting to the Premier League difficult, and he knows he needs to improve next season.

The Algerian international has played for Valencia in the Champions League and for his country at the World Cup but he says nothing is quite like playing in the top flight of English football. He told the club’s official website:

“First of all, the Premier League is a very different style of football to what I have experienced in La Liga, the Champions League and World Cups. Unfortunately, I was affected by some physical problems earlier in the season but that’s football and I’ll take what I’ve learned this year to improve for next season.”

The 27 year old found game time limited earlier in the season with a hamstring injury hampering his ability to play during the first two months of the campaign. He was however given a run in the first team from mid January to the start of April but he was then benched once again.

Feghouli did however return for the final league game of the campaign against Burnley. He put in a very impressive display, scoring in the 2-1 win, and he will be hoping to kick on next season now he has had a year to get used to the rigours of the Premier League.
