West Ham will snap up Manchester City right back Pablo Zabaleta on a two year deal, according to Daily Mail reporter Joe Bernstein.

The Citizens announced on Saturday that the Argentinian had stated his intentions to leave the Etihad stadium when his contract expires in the summer, after spending nine years at the club.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has been trying to strengthen the right side of his defence since the start of the season, and he has had to use a whole host of players to fill the problem position.

Sam Byram, Havard Nordtveit, Cheikhou Kouyate and Michail Antonio have all been used as right full backs or wing backs this season, but it now seems West Ham will have a recognised first choice in the role from the start of next season.

The Hammers had been linked with Zabaleta’s team mate Bacary Sagna but it seems that the club have opted for a player who is a year younger and is likely to offer more than the Frenchman over a two year period.
