West Ham fans have reacted with delight to the news that Michail Antonio has signed a new four year contract to stay with the club.

After David Gold tweeted about a new contract there was no great surprise about the deal but after a difficult season every piece of good news has been celebrated by the Hammers faithful.

The 27-year-old has taken the switch to the London Stadium in his stride notching an impressive nine goals from the wing which has attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in the country.

Antonio signed a contract at the start of the season but with speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Chelsea, West Ham moved quickly to put new improved terms on the table.

West Ham paid Nottingham Forest £7m for Antonio in 2015 and could expect to collect four times that figure of they were to put the England hopeful up for sale.
