West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is hoping that striker Andy Carroll can at least have an impact from the bench when the Hammers face Tottenham on Friday night.

The 28 year old has missed the last two games with a groin injury but the Croatian told the club’s official website that he is expecting the forward to be back to play against Spurs at the London Stadium:

West Ham have missed a clinical edge in Carroll’s absence after successive 0-0 draws against Everton and Stoke City. Hammers fans will however be pleased with the club’s improvement in defence after starting with a back three again against the Potters last time out.

The three centre halves of Jose Fonte, Winston Reid and James Collins certainly give the side a solid feel to it, but with Carroll hopefully returning to at least bench duty against Tottenham, there will be heightened expectations of an improved attacking performance from the Hammers too.
