Manchester City are likely to demand a £30m buyback clause in any deal for striker Kelechi Iheanacho, according to the Daily Mail.

The Hammers have reportedly offered £20million for the 20 year old but City want to future proof the deal, allowing them to buy back the Nigerian international for a set price if he goes on to become a massive success.

The Mail say West Ham are willing to include such a clause in the contract for the forward, but they would prefer it was closer to £40m in order for them to make a larger profit from the sale of the player back to the Citizens.

Buyout clauses are more common on the continent with the most notable being the one that saw Alvaro Morata move back to Real Madrid from Juventus last summer for just £26million.

City are likely trying to ensure that they don’t have players that come back to haunt them like Chelsea, who are likely to have pay a significant sum to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton after selling the Belgian for £28m in 2014.
