Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony will return to the Etihad stadium in the summer after failing to impress on his season long loan spell at Stoke, according to Daily Mail. The newspaper reports that West Ham are among the clubs that will look to make a move for the Ivory Coast international.

The Hammers will however have competition from a number of other sides for the 28 year old’s signature, including West Bromwich Albion, Galatasaray, Lyon and Marseille.

Bony has struggled since joining City from Swansea City two years ago. His excellent goalscoring record during his season and a half in Wales, where he scored 35 goals in 70 games, led to his £25million move to the Etihad. He never established himself as a first team player at the Manchester club, and was loaned out at the start of the season to the Potters.

After initially being part of Stoke manager Mark Hughes’s first team plans, Bony fell out of favour after returning from the African Cup of Nations. The forward has not had a single minute of game time since coming on as a late substitute in the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool back in late December. He has not even made the matchday squad for Stoke since the start of February.
