West Ham are believed to be one of the favourites to land Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in the summer, according to the Sun.

The England international has been on loan at Bournemouth this season but the paper report the 25 year old is seeking a move to a bigger club than the Cherries, and would like to remain in London.

He reportedly doesn’t believe he will get game time with the Gunners and it is likely a bidding war in the summer will begin with the player having just one year left on his current deal.

A season without injury on the South coast has meant Wilshere has played 26 games this campaign; the most he has managed since the 2013/14 season. It hasn’t resulted in many goals or assists though, with just two assists to his name since August.

It is not likely to put off potential suitors though with a source telling the Sun that West Ham’s overtures have not been rejected by the player’s representatives. Bidding could reach as high as £30million and much may depend on whether the Hammers are prepared to break their transfer record for Wilshere.
