West Ham are lining up a summer bid for Arsenal’s out of favour striker Lucas Perez, reports the Mirror.

The Spaniard has become unsettled at the Emirates stadium after failing to break into the first team since his switch from Deportivo La Coruna at the start of the season.

The Hammers are reportedly prepared to pay £17million; the same amount the Gunners paid Deportivo in the summer for the forward. Perez’s agent is also aware of West Ham’s interest and is hoping to manufacture a move away from Arsenal at the end of the season.

The striker’s numbers this campaign look pretty decent considering his lack of game time. Despite starting just nine games, he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.

Although his statistics are impressive, he has not even made the bench for Arsenal’s last two league games against West Brom and Manchester City with the player’s unhappiness alienating both team mates and coaching staff. It seems very likely he will be offloaded in the summer with the Hammers a likely destination.
