Manchester City full back Pablo Zabaleta is on the verge of signing a three year contract with West Ham, according to Gazzamercato.it.

The Italian website report that the Argentinian’s time at the Etihad stadium is up, and with his contract expiring in the summer, he will not be offered a new deal to remain by manager Pep Guardiola.

Whether the Hammers are as close to signing Zabaleta as Gazzamercato suggest is not known but a move for a right back is no doubt of one of the club’s major priorities for the summer.

The 32 year old Zabaleta would certainly offer a great deal of experience to West Ham after spending nearly a decade with City, winning two Premier League titles, a FA Cup and two League Cups.

Gazzamercato report that Italian clubs Roma and Inter Milan had been interested in the right back in the past but they seem to suggest that West Ham have won the race for the player’s signature.
