Spanish winger Gerard Deulofeu is keen to remain at AC Milan beyond the end of his loan spell, according to Tuttosport (via Tribal Football).

The 23 year old is currently on loan at the Serie A club from Everton, and has been interesting West Ham among other clubs. Barcelona also have the option to buy back the player in the summer but Deulofeu seems keen to stay in Italy.

The midfielder recently broke into the Spanish national team after his displays on loan at Milan, and he is aware that he needs to keep playing first team football if he is to remain in Spain manager Julen Lopetegui’s future plans.

A return to Barca therefore seems unlikely as Deulofeu will not be a first team regular at the Camp Nou if the Catalan club decide to keep him rather than sell him on straight away.

This latest development doesn’t preclude West Ham from making an attempt to sign the winger once his loan spell with Milan ends but it seems his heart is set on remaining with the Italian side.
