Galatasaray manager Igor Tudor has confirmed the Turkish club are interested in signing Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic in the summer.

The 30 year old has been heavily linked with a move to city rivals Besiktas in recent weeks, as well as West Ham, and Tudor told Fotospor (translated by Turkish-football.com) that he wants his fellow countryman to join him in Istanbul:

“Who wouldn’t want Mandzukic? He is a fantastic striker and a great team player. Of course Id like to see Mandzukic here, who wouldn’t want him in their team.”

Mandzukic’s future at Juventus has been speculated on since the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain last summer. The purchase of the club record signing from Napoli was seen as spelling the end of the Croatian’s time in Turin but Bianconeri boss Max Allegri has found a place for the forward in his starting eleven alongside Higuain.

The former Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid striker has been playing out of position, out wide, for most of the campaign, but he has played 37 times this season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists.
