Crystal Palace are looking to make a move for Stoke City defender Glen Johnson, according to the Sun. The 32 year old has been tipped to return to West Ham in the summer after starting his senior career with the Hammers back in 2002.

The Sun say that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic attempted to sign Johnson in the January transfer window but a move did not materialise. The Croatian is however still believed to be interested in the veteran full back.

The former England international’s contract expires at the end of the season, and although there is an option to extend for a further year, Johnson’s injury problems this season have meant he hasn’t played enough matches for Stoke to trigger an automatic extension.

The right back has made 20 appearances in all competitions this campaign, but earlier season issues with a thigh muscle and a hamstring injury have meant he has been used less often by manager Mark Hughes.

Along with Johnson, Bilic is looking at Manchester City defenders Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna on free transfers as he seeks an experienced full back for next season.
