West Ham have enquired about Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish publication say the Hammers have made it known to the Spanish international’s entourage that they are interested in signing the player, but Morata seems to be keener on other clubs.

The 24 year old reportedly would see a move to London stadium as a step backwards in his career, and if he does leave the Bernabeu in the summer, he is keener on moving to the likes of Chelsea or former club Juventus.

It is by no means certain that the forward will leave Spain at the end of the season either. Although Real manager Zinedine Zidane has favoured Karim Benzema as his first choice striker this campaign, Morata has started 15 games in all competitions and has made appearances in 34 games in total, scoring 13 goals.

His future will likely become clearer in the summer when Madrid are expected to bring in more high profile signings, with Morata waiting to see where he fits into the club’s first team plans.
