Chelsea will allow midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek to leave on loan next season, according to the Daily Mailsparking a scramble to secure the 21 year old’s signature.

West Ham were heavily linked with the England Under 21 international earlier this season, but the Mail reports that currently Stoke City and Brighton are the two main candidates looking to sign the midfielder.

One of the main reasons Loftus-Cheek may not be sold permanently is due to the player’s astronomically high wages. Despite only playing a handful games for the Blues, it is believed he is earning above £50,000 a week and would need to take a pay cut to leave Stamford Bridge.

The youngster impressed observers during the international break playing for the England Under 21s. He scored twice for the Young Lions in a 4-0 win over Denmark on Monday.

Loftus-Cheek has made eight appearances for his club under manager Antonio Conte this season, but he hasn’t managed a single start in the Premier League, which may prompt his departure on a temporary basis next campaign in order to play regular first team football.
