The Daily Telegraph‘s chief football writer Sam Wallace is reporting that West Ham are interested in Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner to replace Slaven Bilic.

The German has transformed the Terriers fortunes since arriving at the club from Borussia Dortmund in November 2015. From perennial Championship strugglers, Wagner has turned them into promotion contenders. They currently lie third in the table, seven points off the leaders Newcastle at the top of the table, with one game in hand.

The Huddersfield boss is the third Championship manager the Hammers have been linked to in the space of a week. Reading manager Jaap Stam and Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez have also been tipped to take over at the London Stadum if Bilic is sacked.

Wagner turned down the opportunity to manage Bundesliga club Wolfsburg earlier in the season to remain in the Championship, but the Telegraph report his contract contains a clause which allows him to join any club if they meet the compensation terms.
