Former West Ham left back Paul Konchesky thinks the Hammers should stand by Slaven Bilic despite the club’s inconsistent performances this campaign.

The former Charlton Athletic and Fulham player says the season will be a success if they finish in the top half although he believes the squad will need to be rebuilt in the summer: He told 888sport.com:

“They need to rebuild the team but stick by him because he’s got good people around him. Get this season out of the way and if they can finish in the top half that would be a success for now.”

West Ham are currently 12th in the table, level on points with eleventh placed Bournemouth and tenth placed Southampton. They are nine points off the bottom three but they are also ten points off West Brom in eighth position. Ninth place is a possibility with Stoke just three points ahead on 36 points but they will have to improve on their current form if they are going to make the top half.

The Hammers have not won since the 3-1 away win against Southampton at the start of February and are on a run of three consecutive defeats after the weekend loss against Leicester City.
