West Ham were among four English clubs interested in a deadline day deal for Ludogorets winger Jonathan Cafu, according to Sport Witness.

The website report that the Bulgarian club were looking for €12million or £10million for the Brazilian but the Hammers and other interested parties were not prepared to match their valuation of the player.

Stoke City, Leicester City and Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion were all said to have also approached Ludogorets but no English club were believed to have made an official bid for the midfielder. Sport Witness say West Ham reportedly were only prepared to offer €7million or £6million for the 25 year old.

Cafu has performed well both in the league and the Champions League for Ludogorets this season, with 11 goals and seven assists in 28 games so far this campaign. His most notable performance came against Arsenal in a 3-2 defeat where he scored one goal, and assisted another.
