West Ham are reportedly still interested in signing Ludogorets winger Jonathan Cafu, according to tuttomercatoweb.com. The website Sport Witness reported that the Hammers were one of the clubs looking at the Brazilian during the January transfer window.
The 25 year old has performed well both in the Bulgarian league and in the Champions League this season, and has been interesting other English clubs including Stoke City, Leicester City and Brighton.
Tuttomercatoweb say that West Ham will bid €10million (£8.5m) in the summer. Ludogorets are however believed to be holding out for €12million, and it is reported that this asking price kept a move from going ahead last month.
Sport Witness reported that the only official bids came from Serie A club Lazio and French side Lyon but both offers were deemed to be below the club’s valuation of the player.
Whether a £8.5m bid will be acceptable, we will have to wait until the summer when the transfer window reopens.
