Young English talent Pickford has impressed in a poor Sunderland side this season and could be easy pickings for the Hammers if the north-east club end up getting relegated to the Championship. The 22-year-old local lad might be reluctant to leave the club he supports, but the prospect of a place in West Ham’s starting XI could lead to an England debut, which could entice the big man to London Stadium. The U21 international was recently praised as “one of the best keepers I’ve seen in my career” by former Hammer Jermain Defoe.
