West Ham winger Sofiane Feghouli says he is hoping to make the most of his run in the first team with the Hammers. Feghouli struggled with injuries at the start of the season, but he has also found it hard to get a look in with regular first team chances since then.

Speaking in an interview with West Ham’s official website, the Algerian says he is now being given the opportunity to perform in the side by Slaven Bilic after starting the last four games:

“To begin with it was tough when I was struggling to be given a chance. When you get that though, you need to take it, so I’ve been working hard in training and I feel when I have started the last few I have done that. I am hoping to continue to start matches and help the team now going forward.”

Feghouli was believed to be on the verge of joining Roma this month but his return to the first team has prompted a swift turnaround in fortunes for the 27 year old.

Since providing an assist after coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 win over Swansea City on Boxing Day, Feghouli has started important matches against Manchester United, Manchester City, whilst also scoring his first league goal for the club against Crystal Palace.
