Leeds United are expecting to sign West Ham forward Ashley Fletcher on loan before the transfer window closes, according to Simon Jones in the Daily Mail.

They report that the 21 year old is “keen” on joining a club of Leeds’ stature as he looks for more game time. The forward only joined on a free transfer from Manchester United in the summer, but despite being used regularly as a substitute by manager Slaven Bilic this season, he has been restricted to just three starts in all competitions.

Fletcher has scored one goal for the Hammers, ironically against his former club Manchester United in the EFL Cup, but most of his 16 appearances so far for the Hammers have been fleeting glimpses.

Leeds have been linked with a loan for Fletcher for a while, and manager Garry Monk is keen on recruiting the striker to strengthen his firepower as the Championship side bid for promotion.
