West Ham’s on loan winger Gokhan Tore has denied that he may be moving to Turkish club Fenerbahce. The Turkish international signed on a season long loan at the start of the season, but it looks likely he won’t play again this campaign after undergoing surgery on his knee.

The 25 year old is contracted to the Hammers until the end of the campaign, but returned to Besiktas to continue his recovery from his operation. Reports in Turkey however linked the player with a permanent switch to Besiktas’ city rivals Fenerbahce, but responding to the speculation in an interview with Fanatik, Tore said:

“I have been offered many clubs from time to time, but Fenerbahçe were not among those clubs.”

After the signing of Robert Snodgrass from Hull City for £10million at the weekend, it is unlikely that Tore would have been given much game time even if he had stayed fit this campaign.

As part of the £2.5million loan deal with Besiktas, the Hammers also agreed an option to buy the Turkish international at the end of the season, but Tore also confirmed he would indeed be returning to Turkey rather than remaining in England.

“I am currently a contracted player for West Ham United, and I will return to Beşiktaş at the end of the season.”
