L’Equipe are reporting that Marseille are hopeful that a €30m (£25m) deal for West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet can be finalised by Tuesday. The French newspaper say that negotiations are still ongoing but a deal looks to be in sight.

Payet has been training with the Under 23 side with senior team mates reportedly no longer wishing to talk with the Frenchman. Manager Slaven Bilic and co-owner David Sullivan have both previously stated that the 29 year old was not for sale but it looks like their position is softening as Marseille dig their heels in over their valuation of the player.

French newspaper L’Equipe have also reported in recent days that Payet has already agreed personal terms with his former club, with a four and a half year deal believed to be worth €7million a year, but Payet’s agent Jacques-Olivier Augustus told the same newspaper today that no such deal had been agreed.
