Roma are now favourites to sign Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to West Ham and Leicester City in the Italian media in recent weeks.

The Italian club’s manager Luciano Spalletti is reportedly cautiously optimistic that a deal will go ahead this monts but there seems to be a huge difference between Roma and Sassuolo’s valuation of the player.

Sassuolo are demanding up to €25million for the 25 year old while Roma are only prepared to go as high as €15million for the striker, Gazzetta reports. Defrel has been in good form for Sassuolo this season with 10 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.

West Ham primary striker target still seems to be Brentford’s Scott Hogan but the manager of the Bees, Dean Smith has stated that the club is still waiting for the Hammers to make a bid which matches their £15million valuation of the player.
