Italian website Calciomercato.com have said sources have told them that Juventus full back Patrice Evra will leave the Italian club during this transfer window. The same site reported last month that West Ham had been in talks with the 35 year old but manager Slaven Bilic rejected the claims saying they are not interested in the French international.

Evra is said to be keen to return to the UK to play for former club Manchester United. Calciomercato report that Jose Mourinho would be keen on signing the left back, although they also say West Ham would welcome him “with open arms” which is questionable.

Bilic is certainly much more focused on bringing in a striker and a right back during this transfer window. Sky Sports are reporting that the Hammers will offer up to £1million for Stoke City full back Glen Johnson.

The 32 year old’s contract expires at the end of the season and West Ham are keen to shore up the right side of defence which has been a problem position for a while.
