Daily Mail journalist Simon Jones reports West Ham are looking at signing Brentford striker Scott Hogan in the January transfer window. The 24 year old is believed to be available for £10million.

The Hammers will almost certainly be frontrunners for Hogan’s signature despite the fact that the forward has a long list of Championship clubs also trying to sign him, including Brighton & Hove Albion and Derby County. The player has expressed in the past his desire to leave Brentford only if he can step up a level to the Premier League.

The Mail say that Hogan has already checked out West Ham’s training facilities in view to a move. It must be said however that the Hammers are considering a number of striking options. Manager Slaven Bilic said in his press conference yesterday they may consider another bid for AC Milan Carlos Bacca.

West Ham had a £25million bid accepted in the summer for the Colombian only for the forward to pull out of the deal. Bilic says he does want a player who could hit the ground running straight away in England which could swing things in favour of Hogan, or even former forward Jermain Defoe who has also been linked.
