Valencia Sporting Director Jesus Garcia Pitarch was in London on Monday to talk with West Ham striker Simone Zaza’s agent and father Antonio about a move to Spain, according to Plaza Deportiva.
The Spanish publication say that Pitarch and Zaza did not end up agreeing on a contract but that negotiations had been promising and were at an advanced stage. The Italian international has agreed to take a pay cut to what he is currently on at West Ham.
He has been convinced over the past few weeks about joining Valencia after talking to manager Cesare Prandelli who has persuaded the player to move to the Mestalla.
At his press conference yesterday, West Ham manager Slaven Bilic revealed that the Hammers are trying to find a solution for Zaza’s situation. The only stumbling block to the forward’s move to Spain could be Juventus. They are reluctant to lose out on the £20million they are due if the player makes it to 14 appearances for the Hammers.
