Toulouse have turned down a €10million (£8.5m) offer from West Ham United for their striker Martin Braithwaite Christensen, according to RMC Sport.

The Danish forward has been in good form this season with eight goals in 17 appearances but it looks like the Hammers will have to up their bid if they want to secure the services of the 25 year old.

Braithwaite’s ancestry is from Guyana in the Caribbean but he was born in Esbjerg in Denmark. He played for his hometown club until 2013 when he moved to Ligue One side Toulouse for €2million.

He can play either as a forward or a winger, but isn’t known for his prolific goalscoring. He broke double figures for only the second time in his career last season, and has followed that up this campaign with a string of good performances.

Toulouse manager Pascal Dupraz is determined to keep the player, reports RMC, and is actually seeking a partner for Braithwaite in the January transfer window.
