Fiorentina are weighing up a move for West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang, according to the Corriere Fiorentino (via calciomercato.com). The Italian newspaper report that the Viola see the Spaniard as a potential target in the January transfer window.
Obiang is not the only player however that the Viola are keeping tabs on. Napoli midfielder Omar El Kaddouri is said to be another candidate, and with the Moroccan’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa may feel they could get the player on the cheap in January, for less than they would have to pay for the West Ham midfielder.
Although the Corriere Fiorentino do report that Obiang would also be available quite cheaply, the fact the he has become a regular in the Hammers first team this season would suggest otherwise.
The 24 year old has made 19 appearances this season, and has started 11 out of 18 Premier League games so far this campaign.
