Spartak Moscow are interested in signing West Ham forward Simone Zaza, according to ItaSportPress. The Italian website say that manager Massimo Carrera is a big fan of the 25 year old.

The Spartak boss was assistant to Antonio Conte for the Italian national team between 2014 and 2016, and would have worked closely with Zaza during that time.

The striker’s future at the Hammers is now in huge doubt after he was left out of the squad for the team’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield yesterday. It looks likely that the Italian international will return to Juventus in January, cutting the loan deal short so as not to trigger the permanent transfer which would cost the London club £20million.

Zaza needs to make 14 appearances for the move to go ahead, but he has only played nine games that qualify, and after failing to feature in the last three league outings, his time at the London stadium looks to be coming to an end.
