CSKA Moscow have joined the race to sign Jonathan Calleri in January, according to the Sun. The Argentinian is currently on loan from Deportivo Maldonado but has struggled for game time since his move in the summer.
The 23 year old has failed to score in nine appearances in all competitions for the Hammers, although he has only started once for the club since his arrival; that came in the EFL Cup second round tie against Acrrington Stanley.
Calleri has failed to make the squad for the last four league matches, and has also been linked with a move to Spain with either Sevilla and Malaga.
The forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Brazilian side Sao Paulo, and he was also linked with a return there in January in the Brazilian media. Responding to the speculation, Calleri said he would only play for Sao Paulo if he were to return to Brazil. He did however confirm interest from Palmeiras but stated firmly his desire to make it in Europe.
