West Ham are looking to sign another striker in the January transfer window next month and The Sun reports that the Hammers have made Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson a key target.

The club’s troubles up front have been well documented. In 20 matches, West Ham’s five strikers of Simone Zaza, Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll, Jonathan Calleri and Ashley Fletcher have managed just two goals. Both of those incidentally came in the club’s last two matches against Manchester United in the league and the EFL Cup.

The unfortunate injury to one of those forwards, Diafra Sakho, who scored against United on Sunday, has forced Slaven Bilic’s hand in making a move for Wilson.

The Sun say that the 24 year old may cost as much as £25million. A steep fee considering Wilson’s record so far in the Premier League. Although the forward was sidelined with most of last season with a serious knee injury, he has scored nine goals in 27 league games in the top flight. Whether that warrants the reported outlay, manager Slaven Bilic will have to make that judgement call.
