Belgian side Anderlecht will rival West Ham for the signing of Laurent Depoitre from Porto, according to tuttomercatoweb.com.

The Belgian striker was linked to the Hammers yesterday in the Daily Telegraph. The 28 year old has failed to establish himself in Portugal after arriving from Gent in the summer.

Although Depoitre has played in ten matches since joining Porto but he has started just two league games, and scored two goals so far. The forward has a decent record in front of goal while playing in Belgium for Gent, and Anderlecht’s interest in bringing the player back to the Jupiler Pro League is not a surprise.

West Ham’s interest seems to be more down to the fact that they are struggling to find potential striking options in the January transfer window with manager Slaven Bilic restricted to signing players on loan unless he can generate funds through player sales next month.
