West Ham striker Simone Zaza has been talking about the challenges of settling into life at West Ham in an interview with Rai Sport (quotes via tuttomercatoweb.com)

The 25 year old has not scored in his first nine appearances for the Hammers since his loan switch from Juventus in the summer but the Italian international said he is determined to turn things around:

“I miss the food, the sun. I was aware of the difficulties, from a personal point of view and football… Now I live in a great city, I will have to get used to it. This negative momentum depends on me, I am the only one able to change things.”

The Sun have reported that due to his poor start, West Ham have no intention of making the move permanent. It means it is almost inevitable that Zaza will depart the club in the January transfer window. To avoid paying the €20million to make the transfer permanent, the Hammers will need to ensure the player does not reach 14 appearances.

After being benched for the home league game against Stoke last time, and the impending return of Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho to first team action, it seems Zaza may not get a chance to revitalise his West Ham career.
