West Ham could make a move for Dundee midfielder James Cowan, according to the Mirror. Championship side Derby County and League One club Oxford United are also said to be keeping track of the 18 year old.

The young Scottish star has yet to make an appearance in the SPFL for Dundee and is currently making his way through the youth ranks of the Scottish Premiership club with Cowan making appearances for the Under 20 team.

The player is believed to have a contract until the summer of 2018 but the Mirror report that Dundee are willing to allow the midfielder to leave the club for a fee in the January transfer window.

The Hammers are also expected to sign up another youngster to a new contract in the next week or so with defender Reece Oxford reportedly close to penning his signature to a new long term deal. The 17 year old has been interesting Manchester United, Manchester City and RB Leipzig in recent months.
