West Ham are tracking Greenock Morton and Scotland Under 21 international winger Jai Quitongo, according to the Daily Mail.

Quitongo, who can also play for Portugal, is free to talk to foreign clubs in January as he reaches the final six months of his contract at Morton. Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Swansea and Wigan Athletic are also scouting the 19 year old.

Villa in particular seem to be the front runners for Quitongo’s signature at the moment. They sent scouts to watch the winger in Morton’s match against Falkirk at the weekend, and will watch him again this week when he is in action for Scotland Under 21s.

The winger has been in good form this season, and so far in 20 appearances this season, he has managed an impressive six goals as Morton sit fourth in the Scottish Championship on 19 points.

Quintongo has revealed that he almost quit professional football after leaving Aberdeen’s youth ranks in the summer of 2015. He was given an opportunity by Morton on an 18 month deal and now has Premier League clubs at his door.
