Paris Saint-Germain are “poised” to reignite their move for West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet in the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.

PSG were reportedly interested in the 29 year old last summer but the Frenchman remained at the London club despite his high profile performances at the European Championships for France.

Speculation about the Hammers star’s future at the club has increased because of an interview Payet did with a French TV channel after West Ham’s 1-1 home draw against Stoke on Saturday. Bojan Krkic’s second half equaliser means the Hammers remain 17th in the Premier League and reflecting on the club’s season, Payet told Telefoot:

“We’ve had a poor start. Leave in January? I’m asking other questions but I’m not closing the door to anything. It’s always the sports project that interests me. I work like that and until I play at a level like this, it will be the case.”

Payet only signed a new deal to keep him at the London stadium back in January worth an estimated £120,000 a week but it looks as though it may take more to persuade him to stay with the Hammers with the club struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League.
