Europa League winners Sevilla are believed to be keen to reignite their interest in West Ham striker Jonathan Calleri, according to the Seville newspaper Estadio Deportivo.

The Argentinian did interest the Spanish side last summer before his move to the Hammers. They were unwilling to play a sizeable loan fee for the forward; especially considering his lack of experience in European football. With the 23 year old struggling for game time at the London stadium however, Sevilla are now considering a second attempt at signing him.

The La Liga club already have reached their limit of three non EU nationals in their squad, but Calleri has an Italian passport and would therefore qualify for the move.

The striker is on loan from Uruguayan second division side Deportivo Maldonado.  Many top players are being moved to Uruguay by agents in order to take advantage of the country’s generous tax breaks. Players are then loaned out to European clubs hoping to impress and get a permanent move.
