Valencia’s local newspaper Super Deporte are reporting that Valencia feel they are “well placed” to sign striker Simone Zaza if he leaves West Ham.

The Spanish side have an Italian manager in Cesare Prandelli and the fact that the two know each other quite well from Italian football could help to sway the forward’s decision.

The 25 year old has also been linked with a move to Napoli in recent days, with forward Manolo Gabbiadini linked with a switch in the other direction, but Zaza told RAI sport (translated Football-Italia.net) whilst on international duty that although he believes Napoli are an excellent team, he would see it as a personal failure if he didn’t make an impact in England.

“Napoli are a great team and I have already been fortunate enough to play for Juventus, so I am proud of that, but I am focused on breaking my duck and playing well. West Ham are my current club and it would be a personal failure if I was to leave now.”

Zaza has so far not scored in his nine outings for the Hammers and was benched for the last match against Stoke City. Although technically on loan at the London stadium, the move will be made permanent if the Italian makes just 5 more appearances.
