Speaking to BBC Sport, West Ham captain Mark Noble has conceded that he and his team-mates were not happy after the Hammers conceded an equaliser against Stoke towards the end of their game yesterday afternoon.

It finished 1-1 and the match itself had few chances but the east London side took the lead with a little under half and hour to play when Dimitri Payet’s cross saw Glenn Whelan take the last touch to see the ball into the net.

That had put the Hammers on course for another win at their new stadium in recent weeks after beating Chelsea and Sunderland previously but Stoke forward Bojan spoiled the party.

After Adrian came towards Jon Walters and missed his cross the Spaniard had the easiest of tasks in finishing. It was this factor, too, which Noble said was an avoidable strike to concede as well as admitting the team were not happy with how things went.

The captain said: “The goal we conceded could have been avoided. It wasn’t the most enjoyable game of the season but at this stage of the season three points would have been massive for us. Unfortunately we didn’t come away with them.

We are not happy. We have got a draw but at the end of the season it could be a massive point for us. We’re now four games unbeaten at home and looking forward.”

The point took the Hammers into 16th place in the Premier League table
