Serie A side Roma have made contact with West Ham about the potential signing of Pedro Obiang, according to ESPN (via tuttomercatoweb.com). The Spaniard has been starting regularly under manager Slaven Bilic this season but Roma seem to be determined to land the midfielder in the January transfer window.
Obiang joined from Italian club Sampdoria at the start of last season but struggled to make an impact in his first campaign in England with just 11 Premier League starts.
The 24 year old has however played a far more prominent role in the claret and blue in his second season at the club, but he may be tempted by Roma, who are one of the top three clubs in Italy and are regular participants in the UEFA Champions League.
Whether he will be allowed to go if indeed Roma’s apparent interest is backed up by a formal offer, we will have to wait until the window opens in just over a month’s time.
