West Ham manager Slaven Bilic says he is very hopeful that the Hammers have begun to turn their season around after a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford yesterday.

Bilic saw his side take a 1-0 lead in the second minute from a header by striker Diafra Sakho, only for it to be cancelled out by a Zlatan Ibrahimovic goal 20 minutes later. The Croatian bossĀ told the Evening Standard that he was happy with his team’s performance in recent matches:

“I am not happy with the position but recently there have been good performances from us. It is only a matter of time when we get the points.”

The Hammers needed goalkeeper Darren Randolph to be at his best at times to keep United out but they also had opportunities of their own including what would have been a memorable goal for young striker Ashley Fletcher – who is yet to score for his new club since arriving from United in the summer.

West Ham will have to do it all again though when they face United once more in the EFL Cup quarter final on Wednesday night.
